The VMCU have advised that due to an odd numebr of teams in the Mitchell Shield, that our nomination for the Josh Browne Plate has been upgraded to the Mitchell Shield. The MJCA pushed as hard as it could to remain in the Josh Browne Plate but was unsuccessful.

Draft Fixtures have been prepared but cannot be published until confirmation has been received from the VMCU. Teams in our group are as follows: Gisborne, North West, Northern Metro (Jika), West Metro, & Williamstown District. The format of the Mitchell Shield is 5 home and away games plus a quarter final. I belive the Top 4 after the quarter finals will play for Mitchell Shield and Teams 5-8 will play for Mitchell Cup but this is to be confirmed. Playing dates are Mon 5th, Tue 6th, Thu 8th, Fri 9th, Mon 12th. Quarter Finals on Wed 14th, Semi Finals on Fri 16th, Grand Finals on Sun 18th.

The Under 12 MJCA representative team has been nominated for the Josh Browne Plate for season 2008/09. Brett Chatterton has been appointed as coach. Training & tryouts are being held at 3pm at Kurunjang nets on Sundays.
